I have been using Apple watch for last month or two. I love it. It is my health tracking device. As much I am satisfied with health and workout apps, I am kind of disappointed with default watch faces. No offense, they are great, but that’s not how we react to time. It feels meh!

Draw Big

I have seen many parents forcing their kids to draw on a small piece of paper or a drawing book. Is it the fear, that drawing on the wall will ruin the expensive paint, making their house look shabby. Or the pain to clean the wall? Maybe it is both.

While I understand why parents do this, I wonder if it is fair on the kids.

Bill reminders in mint mobile.

Recently mint made bill reminders available on mobile. Users can view and set reminders on mint iOS and Android apps. It was a feature users were eagerly waiting for. The feature existed on web but not on mobile.

Bigger phones may have increased the time spent but not changed the one hand mode much. In fact it..

Frequently used apps are easily available and rest are arranged by task

Finally… I spent some time to organize Apps on my iPhone 6+. I bought iPhone 6+ this January and I am really happy with the device, it has not bent…yet(lol). I was using iPhone 5s and Nexus 5 before moving to iPhone 6+, Yes… I used two phones at a time. And before that I was using Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s and iPhone 4 and the list goes on…

Context

Swipe gesture is very interesting gesture. It moves information in and out from the view and allows user to complete a task quickly. Mailbox app, launched in 2013 used this gesture very differently. It solved mail organization problem in a smart way. In my opinion it added a cognitive load. User must learn swipe direction and duration. This load was worth as the return was better.

Experience Design

on Jan 21st, I visited Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose, California and came across this fantastic experience design example. A deep subject sliced interestingly with a practical for kids. I liked it.
